At ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Hospital—Long Island, we provide the highest level of inpatient and outpatient medical care to adults and children through our extensive and growing network of Long Island healthcare facilities.
ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Hospital—Long Island is a 591-bed medical center located in Mineola. We offer care in nearly every specialty and subspecialty of medicine and surgery, and are recognized leaders in treatment for heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. We combine this breadth and depth of services with a compassionate and personalized approach to care.
We are home to Nassau County’s only adult Level 1 Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons with full adult and pediatric capabilities. Our Trauma Center team, part of the Emergency Department at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Hospital—Long Island, provides advanced care to adults and children who have serious or life-threatening injuries.
Adults who require hospitalization but are stable enough to recover at home may qualify for ºÙºÙÊÓƵ’s Home Hospital Program. This hybrid model of care, which combines daily in-person and virtual visits, provides hospital-level care in the comfort of patients’ own homes. The program includes daily visits from a physician and a registered nurse, and continuous vital signs monitoring. An on-call nurse is accessible around the clock, and lab testing, medication delivery, and other care services are available as needed.
ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Hospital—Long Island has one of the premier cardiac programs in the New York region, and our interventional cardiologists offer nonsurgical treatment options through our Transcatheter Heart Valve Program—Long Island.

As part of ºÙºÙÊÓƵ’s Perlmutter Cancer Center, we also provide comprehensive and advanced cancer care. Perlmutter Cancer Center at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Hospital—Long Island CyberKnife Center, which offers noninvasive treatment for cancers of the prostate, breast, brain, spine, and soft tissues, was the first of its kind in the New York metropolitan area. With locations on Long Island and in Manhattan, ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Hospital—Long Island has the largest CyberKnife program in the United States.
In addition, we were the first in Nassau County to be certified by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. We were also the first on Long Island to be named a Hidden Scar Center, in recognition of our expertise in providing advanced breast cancer surgery that removes cancerous tissue but limits visible scarring.
We provide care for children who have cancer at our ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Cancer Center for Kids—Mineola, Nassau County’s largest outpatient facility for childhood cancers and blood disorders.
A leader in diabetes treatment and education, ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Hospital—Long Island was the first major teaching hospital in New York State to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for advanced inpatient diabetes care. We have held advanced certification for this expertise without interruption since 2013.
Our patient-centered approach to diabetes care includes our commitment to being an insulin pump–friendly hospital. We support a patient’s continued use of an insulin pump in the hospital as long as it remains safe for them. We also provide diabetes education to adult and pediatric patients.
Our maternal–fetal medicine specialists care for people experiencing high-risk and complicated pregnancies. As the only fetal surgery program on Long Island, our experts provide treatment and procedures before birth, helping ensure healthier outcomes for mothers and babies.
More than 5,000 babies are born each year at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Hospital—Long Island’s New Life Center, our labor and delivery unit which combines a family-centered approach to childbirth with care from our highly trained obstetric team. We are certified by The Joint Commission for advanced perinatal care, which recognizes our excellence in caring for mothers and babies before and after birth. We are home to a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where we provide comprehensive care for newborns who need additional support. We have also earned Baby-Friendly designation by Baby-Friendly USA in recognition of our commitment to supporting breastfeeding mothers.
