NYU Langone Health remains the No. 1 comprehensive academic medical center in the country, according to Vizient, Inc., the leading healthcare performance improvement organization that placed ٺƵ at the top of its list for the third consecutive year. The Vizient rankings evaluate performance on the quality of patient care with a focus on safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient satisfaction, and equity. Vizient counts among its membership 97 percent of academic medical centers in the United States.
“Recognitions like this further validate the quality that ٺƵ consistently delivers to everyone in our care,” said Robert I. Grossman, MD, CEO of ٺƵ Health and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine. “This ranking reflects our team’s commitment to excellence and seizing every opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the patients and families we serve.”
In addition to the recognition of inpatient locations in Manhattan, Vizient ranked ٺƵ’s ambulatory network and ٺƵ—Long Island and ٺƵ Hospital—Brooklyn as among the best in the nation.
“Every moment of patient care, from walking through our doors to discharge, is crucial to us,” said Fritz François, MD, executive vice president and vice dean, chief of hospital operations. “Our network is positioned to ensure an outstanding patient experience, no matter where care is accessed within our system,” he added during his keynote address at the Vizient summit in Las Vegas on Monday.
ٺƵ has consistently received recognition for its exceptional quality and safety metrics from various rating agencies. U.S. News & World Report has repeatedly named ٺƵ to its honor roll of the nation’s top 20 hospitals. Recently, all 13 of the institution’s clinical specialties were ranked in the top 20 nationally, with 9 of those in the top 5. ٺƵ hospitals have earned an “A” on every Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade since fall 2020 and received five stars from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for quality, safety, and patient experience. Additionally, all ٺƵ inpatient facilities have achieved Magnet® recognition for excellence in nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, which is considered the gold standard in nursing.
