For some children, consuming the food and liquids they need is a struggle. At the Pediatric Interdisciplinary Nutrition and Feeding Program, part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ, we offer evaluation and treatment, as well as nutrition and feeding recommendations that can help ensure your child gets the nutrition he or she needs.
Our team of experts includes a pediatric gastroenterologist, nutritionist, and speech–language pathologist. We work with children who have the following symptoms:
We also work with children who have medical diagnoses such as congenital heart disease, prematurity, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and eosinophilic esophagitis.
Not all children with nutrition and feeding issues require the focused services provided by the Pediatric Interdisciplinary Nutrition and Feeding Program. If you’re unsure of the source of your child’s feeding difficulties, please contact speech–language pathology services for children, offered through Rusk Rehabilitation, for an initial evaluation.
At your child’s first appointment, our team evaluates your child to determine his or her nutrition, feeding, and swallowing challenges. We also discuss your observations of your child’s eating patterns. Your input is especially valuable in helping us understand your child’s needs. This assessment helps us diagnose and manage your child’s condition as effectively and quickly as possible.
