Physical & Occupational Therapy Services

Physical and occupational therapists at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Orthopedic Center provide individualized, one-on-one care for acute, postsurgical, and chronic musculoskeletal impairments. As part of Sports Health at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ, our goal is to return you to your prior level of function and performance.

Therapy at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Orthopedic Center is provided by ºÙºÙÊÓƵ’s Rusk Rehabilitation, ranked the best rehabilitation program in New York and among the top 10 in the country by U.S. News & World Report since 1989.

On Long Island, our physical therapists and athletic trainers also provide care for local student athletes in area high schools.

Expertise in Orthopedic Conditions

Our highly accomplished physical and occupational therapists partner with referring physicians and other specialists to develop a program focused on strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. We also emphasize patient education and injury prevention.

Our expert therapists specialize in treating patients who have orthopedic disorders, including:

  • postoperative care following sports-medicine surgery, tendon and ligament repair, joint replacement, spine surgery, and fracture management
  • sports-related injuries, including muscle strains and joint sprains
  • overuse injuries such as tendinitis and bursitis
  • osteoarthritis
  • neck and low-back pain

Patients also have access to our Sports Performance Center, which offers a seamless transition to higher-level training for those who have completed therapy and want to build on the improvements they’ve made.

Additional Expertise in Hand Therapy

Our certified hand therapists provide specialized care for postoperative, sports-related, and overuse injuries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. They are also experts in the fabrication of static and dynamic splints.

Virtual Home or Office Workspace Evaluations

Certified office ergonomics experts at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Orthopedic Center provide virtual evaluations of your home or office workspace. Through these remote consultations, our experts view your work environment, assess potential risk factors, and help you create an efficient workspace that maximizes musculoskeletal comfort and health and reduces the potential for injury.

Therapy takes place in the 7,200-square-foot gym, where patients have access to cutting-edge therapeutic equipment such as the Alter-G® anti-gravity treadmill and computer-based video motion analysis.
