Our Approach to Treating

Shoulder Sprains & Strains

Specialists at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Orthopedic Center are experts in diagnosing and treating people with shoulder sprains and strains.

Shoulder strength and range of motion are dependent upon the ligaments, muscles, and tendons working together. Ligaments are the cords of tissue that connect the bones in the shoulder joint, while the tendons anchor muscle to bone. A shoulder sprain occurs when the ligaments overstretch or tear, while a shoulder strain is when some of the fibers in the shoulder muscles or tendons overstretch or tear. These injuries can limit your ability to move and lift your arms and can cause acute or chronic pain.

Our doctors specialize in managing shoulder sprains and strains. They offer a variety of medical treatments and work with physical and occupational therapists to ensure you recover fully and return to work, sports, or other activities as quickly as possible. If you are diagnosed with a severe shoulder sprain or strain that does not respond to other treatments, our doctors may recommend surgery.
