In addition to our pediatric critical care doctors, physician assistants in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ, partner with you and your child to manage serious health problems.

Begum Aktar, BS, PA-C

Begum AktarMs. Aktar is a pediatric critical care physician assistant. She provides educational support to patients in the PICU and their families. In addition, she coordinates consultations from medical subspecialists and social service providers for patients requiring complex care. 

Laurie Kasloff, PA-C

Laurie KasloffMs. Kasloff is a certified physician assistant with more than 20 years of experience in the PICU. She is honored to be working with the dedicated PICU team at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ. She has a clinical interest in infectious disease and strives to make hospitalization less stressful for children and their families.

Rosa Michos, PA-C

Ms. Michos, a certified physician assistant, chose to specialize in pediatric critical care to make an immediate difference in children’s lives. She provides a team approach to care, working with attending physicians, nurses, therapists, and respiratory therapists. Together, they provide family-centered care, manage a wide array of conditions, and perform bedside procedures to support the health of patients.

Christine Zammit, MS, PA-C

Ms. Zammit is a certified physician assistant in the PICU, where she has the privilege of working as part of an exemplary and innovative team to deliver compassionate, comprehensive, and patient-centered care to critically ill children.
