I have aspired to care for patients for as long as I can remember. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, I earned my medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. My adventurous spirit and medical training led me to practice in Sri Lanka and England before I settled in Philadelphia, where I completed my residency in internal medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Board-certified in internal medicine, I served as an attending physician in Pennsylvania and New Jersey for several years before embarking on my transition to dermatology.

In 2006, I earned a master of science degree in clinical epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania, focusing my research on the relationship between psoriasis, cardiovascular disease, and cardiovascular risk factors. My expertise in clinical research in dermatology led me to a research fellowship in dermatopharmacology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. There I completed a residency in dermatology and became a board-certified dermatologist.

I joined the �ٺ���Ƶ Department of Dermatology in 2011 and currently serve as a clinical associate professor in dermatology and associate director of dermatology at �ٺ���Ƶ’s Psoriatic Arthritis Center. My clinical interests include medical dermatology, women’s health, psoriasis, and inflammatory skin diseases. My academic passions are teaching our very gifted residents and designing and conducting clinical trials, particularly in collaboration with my rheumatology colleagues.

My decades of international history and experience have afforded me a broad, worldwide perspective that informs both my everyday medical practice and my academic pursuits. It energizes research collaboration with talented colleagues from all over the world. It fosters patient–physician relationships, and student-teacher relationships, founded on diversity, transparency and understanding, and trust and empathy. The result is the hallmark of top-notch medical centers: academic excellence and comprehensive care that enhances the wellbeing of our patients by focusing intensely on both their physical and emotional health.
