I believe that orthopedic care should be personalized, and I always make time to discuss my patients’ problems, concerns, and the various treatment options available at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ. I offer them a comprehensive consultation, which includes an examination, diagnostic tests, and a review of the results of testing, which includes X-rays and, when necessary, MRI scans.

At the beginning of treatment, I recommend sets of stretches and strengthening exercises in addition to providing patients with a referral to physical therapy. Sometimes, I also suggest medications or shoe modifications. For many people, these treatments can resolve symptoms. When a person’s condition does not improve, I recommend other procedures, such as injections or surgery.

I specialize in sports medicine, helping performing artists move past orthopedic injuries, so they can return to the stage. I provide care for various dance groups, including the Mark Morris Dance Group, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Parsons Dance Company, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, Ballet Hispanico, and—for its Manhattan engagements—Cirque du Soleil. I was the orthopedist for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company from 1999 to 2011, when it disbanded.

I am proud to have served as the orthopedist for more than 75 Broadway and off-Broadway theatrical productions, including The Will Rogers Follies, Guys & Dolls, Miss Saigon, Cats, The Who’s Tommy, Grease, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, Riverdance on Broadway, Wicked, Evita, War Horse, Book of Mormon, Les Misérables, Motown, Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Anastasia, and Groundhog Day. I also provide orthopedic care to The Juilliard School, where I work with student musicians, dancers, actors, and singers.

When treating these artists, I work closely with physical therapists, athletic trainers, and acupuncturists who specialize in performing arts medicine. We provide the best and most comprehensive care possible.
