As a radiation oncologist at �ٺ���Ƶ’s Perlmutter Cancer Center, I work with an exemplary group of doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physicists, radiation therapists, social workers, and chaplains to provide the latest and most advanced treatments for people who have breast cancer and those requiring radiation treatment for cancer symptoms. My pronouns are he and him.

We see the person beyond their cancer diagnosis and tailor treatment conversations and decisions based on each person’s unique identity, values, concerns, and needs.

When my father was diagnosed with lung cancer, I experienced firsthand the impact a cancer diagnosis has on a person, their family, and community. This experience inspired me to pursue radiation oncology. Our medical team is developing novel procedures and processes to minimize the side effects of cancer treatment, reduce the length of treatment, and improve supportive services for those with a cancer diagnosis.

In addition to caring for patients, I am the director of the Perlmutter Cancer Center’s LGBTQ+ Cancer Care and Research Program and director of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Department of Radiation Oncology. I work alongside passionate teams dedicated to creating inclusive and welcoming spaces for patients and their families, as well as safe spaces to work for NYU faculty and staff.

We recognize that identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic factors, spoken language, gender, and sexual orientation can impact cancer risk, access to care, and healthcare treatment. There is a critical need to recognize the intersectionality of diverse identities when addressing disparities, and when developing and implementing appropriate cancer-related care.

I am grateful to be able to provide a holistic, humanistic approach to cancer care for my patients and their families. As a cisgender gay man, I am proud to work at �ٺ���Ƶ and pay forward the welcoming and compassionate care my family received during my dad’s cancer journey. I am dedicated to ensuring all patients are welcomed and treated with the respect they deserve.
