Dimitrios Bliagos, MD, has been appointed director of interventional cardiology at 嘿嘿视频 Hospital鈥擫ong Island and clinical professor at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine. He has a secondary appointment as clinical professor in the and is a member of the at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He was previously chief of the Division of Cardiology at White Plains Hospital.
Dr. Bliagos received his medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He trained in cardiology as a clinical fellow at Montefiore Medical Center. He then completed clinical fellowships in interventional cardiology and endovascular intervention at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Dr. Bliagos will also serve as assistant director of interventional cardiology at 嘿嘿视频 Health. Its Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is among the busiest of its kind in the country, with teams performing more than 20,000 procedures annually. Patients receive catheter-based diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, heart valve disease, and many other cardiovascular conditions.

Dr. Bliagos has participated in major nationwide studies that have led to breakthroughs in minimally invasive catheter-based cardiac procedures. He has authored articles in medical journals and publications, including US Cardiology Review, Annals of Vascular Surgery, and Interventional Cardiology.
