ٺƵ Health Is the Only Hospital System in the New York Metropolitan Area to Receive Highest Honors for Its Hospitals in Manhattan, Brooklyn & Long Island

NYU Langone Health’s Tisch Hospital and Kimmel Pavilion, ٺƵ Hospital—Brooklyn, and ٺƵ Hospital—Long Island were each awarded an “A” in the spring 2021 , a national distinction recognizing ٺƵ’s achievement in providing the highest level of patient care across the health system.
“We are extremely proud that ٺƵ is the only health system in the New York metropolitan area with A-rated hospitals across our provider network,” says Robert I. Grossman, MD, chief executive officer of ٺƵ Health and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine. “This designation further exemplifies our leadership in providing the highest-quality, safest care, and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to excellence throughout our organization.”
The Leapfrog Group’s Safety Grade assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to all general hospitals across the country and is updated every six months. It was developed under the guidance of a national expert panel, using up to 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data. It is based on a hospital’s performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections, and other harms to patients in their care.
In fall 2020, the Leapfrog Group recognized Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, and ٺƵ Hospital—Long Island as top teaching hospitals for quality and safety, a recognition attained by only 105 hospitals across the country. In this latest rating, ٺƵ Hospital—Brooklyn also joins the list of highest-rated hospitals.
The Leapfrog Group is a national nonprofit organization founded in 2000 by large employers and other purchasers. It assesses the quality and safety of hospitals across the country based on available health data.
