NYU Langone Health has opened ٺƵ Ambulatory Care East Meadow, a large multispecialty outpatient center in Nassau County that offers neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and physical therapy, as well as imaging and a wide variety of subspecialty services.
ٺƵ Ambulatory Care East Meadow, located at 1530 Front Street, is housed in a renovated supermarket that was vacated in 2016. Due to limited medical office real estate available on Long Island, health systems such as ٺƵ have been converting former retail spaces into high-quality medical care facilities to bring comprehensive care deeper into the community.
“This new center brings together multiple practices from the region into one centralized location, making it more convenient for patients,” says Andrew Rubin, senior vice president for clinical affairs and ambulatory care at ٺƵ. “Multispecialty centers also foster collaboration among providers, enhancing their ability to provide individualized care.”
Integrated, Nationally Acclaimed Care
The multidisciplinary medical team at ٺƵ Ambulatory Care East Meadow comprises 30 board-certified physicians who specialize in the following areas:
- epilepsy
- foot and ankle surgery
- general neurology, including clinical trials
- general and pediatric orthopedic surgery
- hand and wrist surgery
- headache, migraine, and concussion
- hip and knee reconstruction
- movement disorders
- multiple sclerosis
- neuromuscular disorders

On-site services include X-ray, MRI, and electromyography (EMG). A dedicated social worker at the center connects neurology and neurosurgery patients to support services.
Surgical procedures and advanced diagnostic testing are performed nearby at ٺƵ Hospital—Long Island in Mineola and , so patients can receive integrated, world-class care close to home.
About the State-of-the-Art Facility
The nearly 50,000-square-foot outpatient care center has 60 exam rooms, providing the capacity to care for more than 350 patients daily.
The former supermarket’s open floor plan afforded the flexibility to design the space with an optimal patient experience in mind. For instance, patients with foot and ankle injuries—who may experience difficulty walking—receive treatment near the entrance. Additionally, ٺƵ Ambulatory Care East Meadow offers complimentary valet parking weekdays from 7:00AM to 5:00PM.
“Our newest outpatient care center on Long Island, ٺƵ Ambulatory Care East Meadow, is a modern and welcoming facility featuring high ceilings and abundant natural light,” says Vicki Match Suna, AIA, executive vice president and vice dean for Real Estate Development and Facilities. “It creates a warm and beautiful environment designed to create a calming patient-centered experience.”
The physical therapy gym, which spans 8,500 square feet, features the latest therapeutic equipment, such as the AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™ that allows an accelerated return to an active lifestyle, computer-based video motion analysis, as well as a sports performance turf.
Physical therapists are available for extended hours Monday to Thursday from 7:30AM to 8:00PM, and Fridays from 7:30AM to 5:00PM.
The practice is open for orthopedic appointments Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM, and for neurology and neurosurgery appointments Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
