Both the Manhattan & Long Island Hospitals Were Also Named as Top Teaching Hospitals for Quality & Safety
NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, ٺƵ Hospital—Brooklyn, and ٺƵ Hospital—Long Island were each awarded an “A” in the , a national distinction recognizing ٺƵ’s achievement in providing the highest level of patient care across the health system. In addition, The Leapfrog Group recognized Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, and ٺƵ Hospital—Long Island as top teaching hospitals for quality and safety, a recognition attained by only 105 hospitals across the country.

Grossman, MD, chief executive officer of ٺƵ Health and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine. “Our institution consistently comes out on top nationally and in New York state and the metro area across leading quality and safety rankings, and we are immensely proud of these accomplishments.”
The Leapfrog Group’s Safety Grade assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to all general hospitals across the country and is updated every six months. It was developed under the guidance of a national expert panel, using up to 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data. It is based on a hospital’s performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections, and other harms to patients in their care.
The Leapfrog Group’s Top Hospital Award for Outstanding Quality and Safety assesses hospital performance on the highest standards for quality and patient safety, and hospitals must rank among their top peers on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey to be included. This year, more than 2,200 hospitals were considered, and a total of 105 were selected for the distinction, including ٺƵ Health.
The Leapfrog Group is a national nonprofit organization founded in 2000 by large employers and other purchasers. It assesses the quality and safety of hospitals across the country based on available health data.
