Located in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Manhattan, �ٺ���Ƶ Health’s Joan H. and Preston Robert Tisch Center at Essex Crossing, at 171 Delancey Street, is now fully open, and is staffed by more than 20 physicians from a wide variety of specialties.

“Essex Crossing is experiencing a period of tremendous revitalization, and we’re excited for the opportunity to care for this growing and dynamic community,” says Andrew Rubin, vice president of clinical affairs and ambulatory care at �ٺ���Ƶ.

The 55,000-square-foot outpatient care center now features a new, spacious physical therapy gym, as well as 4 operating rooms outfitted with the latest, state-of-the-art technology, including a multimedia command station that puts clinical images and other important information at the care team’s fingertips.

Patients from the surrounding area and Brooklyn can now conveniently schedule appointments in the following—and recently introduced—specialty clinical areas:

• endocrinology for hormone-related conditions
• gynecology care, including colposcopy, to examine female anatomy
• nephrology for kidney disease
• pediatric orthopedics
• outpatient orthopedic procedures, including injections for joint preservation, joint pain, and osteoarthritis; trigger finger release; ultrasound and shockwave therapy; ligament repair; rotator cuff repair; and minimally invasive arthroscopy for shoulder, knee, ankle, and wrist surgery.
• physical medicine and Rusk Rehabilitation services
• nationally recognized rheumatology care for arthritis, as well as other diseases and autoimmune disorders that affect joints and soft tissues
• spine surgery consultations and follow-up appointments

In addition to these newly offered clinical specialties, experts in addiction medicine, cardiology, pain medicine, primary care, podiatry, and sports medicine—including a specialty program for women athletes—are already established at the center to help patients prevent disease and maintain optimal health. Related diagnostic services, like laboratory testing, X-ray imaging, and cardiology and vascular studies are also conveniently located onsite.

Earlier this year, John G. Kennedy, MD, was appointed director of the Foot and Ankle Center at �ٺ���Ƶ—located at the Tisch Center at Essex Crossing—as well as chief of the Foot and Ankle Division in the . Dr. Kennedy, renowned for his visionary work in minimally invasive surgical treatment of foot and ankle injuries, has a special interest in articular cartilage injury and joint preservation.

“We’re bringing world-class treatment directly to our patients where they live and work, so that in many cases, they do not need to leave their neighborhoods, or travel to multiple sites to access quality and safe care,” says Rubin.

�ٺ���Ƶ’s electronic health record system, Epic, not only connects its vast network of outpatient and inpatient locations, it also enables the use of innovative technology—enhancing delivery of care.

When patients arrive for their appointments, they can now check-in using a self-service kiosk, called Check Mate—designed by �ٺ���Ƶ to streamline and elevate the patient experience from the moment they walk in the door. And while at home or on the go, via a free mobile app, �ٺ���Ƶ’s patient health management portal allows patients to schedule appointments directly online, access virtual urgent care, message directly with their providers, receive test results, view and update medical history and medications, and pay bills electronically.
