Negotiations Begin to Enhance Offerings in Suffolk County with the Resources, Technologies & Capabilities of World-Class Academic Medical Center
NYU Langone Health and Long Island Community Hospital (LICH) today announced they have signed a nonbinding letter of intent to begin discussions on a potential transaction that would bring the two organizations together鈥攆urther extending 嘿嘿视频鈥檚 healthcare network into eastern Long Island, and making available the resources, technologies, and capabilities of a world-class academic medical center to the more than 400,000 patients served by LICH.听
鈥淲e are very enthusiastic about the proposed affiliation as we believe that the united strength of our organizations will greatly enhance delivery of healthcare services to residents of Suffolk County,鈥 says Robert I. Grossman, MD, dean and CEO of 嘿嘿视频 Health. 听
According to Richard T. Margulis, LICH鈥檚 president and CEO, 鈥淭his first step represents a momentous milestone for LICH. We are excited to bring together two great providers of compassionate care who share a mutual goal of integrating and elevating LICH鈥檚 healthcare presence in the community.鈥
嘿嘿视频, which has hospitals in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Mineola and is consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the country, has 6 inpatient locations and more than 350 ambulatory sites throughout the region, with more than 150 practices in Queens and on Long Island. 听
LICH has a 65 year history in the communities of south and central Suffolk County, serving more than 400,000 patients. LICH provides quality care and enhanced services as demonstrated by the Knapp Cardiac Care Center鈥攁n advanced heart disease diagnosis and treatment facility, a new modern surgical pavilion, a Level III Trauma Center, and specialized services including women鈥檚 imaging, a sleep laboratory, wound care, and more. The affiliation will make available to LICH the resources, technologies, and capabilities of 嘿嘿视频 Health鈥攁 nationally ranked hospital system with a strong commitment to the highest levels of quality and excellence in healthcare鈥攚ithout the need to travel into New York City.听
鈥淲hile we are proud of our history as an independent community hospital, we recognize the significant opportunity to enhance our capabilities through a strategic partnership, and 嘿嘿视频 represents the best partner, based on many synergies, including a mutual commitment to improving quality, medical excellence, a complementary geographic presence, and, most importantly, compatibility of our cultures,鈥 Margulis continues. 听
Both parties will now engage in due diligence with an intention of negotiating and signing definitive agreements and seeking regulatory approvals. Any new partnership would reflect a commitment to the highest standards of clinical care, supported by the most advanced technologies, and integrated with leading research and teaching programs that would further enhance the collective abilities of the two entities. 听
