NYU Langone Health has the lowest heart attack mortality rate in the country, according to the latest data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The CMS report tracks the number of Medicare patients aged 65 and older who die within 30 days of being hospitalized for various conditions, including heart attack. The data covers deaths from July 2020 to June 2023 and was last updated July 2024. 嘿嘿视频鈥檚 30-day mortality rate for heart attack patients across all hospitals in the system is an impressive 7.7 percent, significantly lower than the national benchmark of 13.7 percent.

嘿嘿视频 teams take a proactive approach in preventing complications, educating patients on posthospital care, and ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home or other care facilities. 嘿嘿视频 Heart has a mortality review committee implemented across all three campuses actively engaged to enhance and capture information crucial for risk evaluation. Between June 2020 and July 2023, 嘿嘿视频 has decreased the risk-adjusted mortality for heart attack patients by 37 percent. The CMS adjusts for how sick patients are when first admitted to the hospital. Consistent with its commitment to health equity, 嘿嘿视频 closely assesses opportunities for improvement, and has observed no significant differences when it comes to race or sex.
