A new cancer education initiative launched by �ٺ���Ƶ Health’s Perlmutter Cancer Center and SurvivorNet, an educational website for people with cancer, aims to tackle health disparities in people of color. The initiative, called “Close the Gap,” provides information and counseling about cancer for communities of color through SurvivorNet’s website with the goal of raising awareness of health outcome disparities among racial minorities.

“Our mission is to bring visionary thinking and compassionate care to the science of treating cancer,” , professor in the and director of Perlmutter Cancer Center, tells Crain’s Health Pulse New York.
