CBS 60 Minutes: NYU School of Medicine鈥檚 Tuition-Free Initiative Garners National Attention

On August 16, 2018, NYU School of Medicine announced that it is offering to all current and future students in its regardless of need or merit.
鈥淭here were gasps, there was some quiet, there was some screaming,鈥 says Rafael Rivera, MD, MBA, associate dean for admissions and financial aid, describing the scene after Ken Langone made the announcement to the incoming Class of 2022. 鈥淎nd then all of a sudden, the chants started getting louder and louder. And before you knew it, the audience had erupted into cheers of joy.鈥
